How does this relate to Apple and HP, you ask? Good question. Not many people actually look at these certificates, of course, but doing so is a sure-fire way to avoid a phishing site. For example, when you try to connect to your bank site, the site's certificate will verify that the site really does belong to your bank. With web traffic, these certificates are used to encrypt the data, but they support more than just encryption.Ĭertificates also allow for validation. Code signing and certificatesįirst, it's important to understand that when I say "keys," what I really mean is "certificates." These certificates are similar to the ones that are the basis for secure communication between a web server and your browser. This is a story of those keys, and how a Hewlett Packard (HP) error caused problems for a lot of people. Apple holds the keys to nearly all recent Mac software.

It was such a great app with a lot of promise and the way Bluebeam abandoned it without even releasing a web version after hinting at it is beyond frustrating. Man, I appreciate reading everyone who is in the same boat with losing Bluebeam for Mac. I can have 3 files open at same time on different monitors, and create page labels on 200+ pg doc loaded with layers and takeoffs without crashing! This may not help you if owning Mac BB license, but my guess is VM or Parallels may be the next BB crutch until 20 years from now when their online version works and I’m speaking about these days during my self thrown retirement party.īB speed on parallels isn’t on par with PDF expert or preview, but it’s doable now for takeoffs on heavy PDFs. It hasn’t effected Mac side at all, and definitely sped BB rendering up. I wanted to give BB the whole 9 yards since everyone else is helping them, but decided against that. I basically went to ~75% for both settings. I also changed parallels settings and increased from 4 to 8mb, I believe. I’m doing takeoffs bs researching alternative software. Since doing that, BB crashes way less than it did before, and I’m back to tolerating it. I had two different parallels icons running at times and deleted what I thought was app version. Click to expand.I’m still learning Parallels but believe I had a desktop version running alongside the app version at times? That “?” isn’t a mistake. Choose Illustrator for creating web graphics, full page designs, and documents, but not for working on photographs and straight images, or for large multi page documents. If you resize things repeatedly in Illustrator they won’t become distorted as they do in Photoshop. This vector basis means it is really intended for scalable design elements like brand marks and logos. It is a vector based software, so it uses lines to work and doesn’t pixelate or lose detail. Illustrator is very versatile, because you can use it to produce anything from web designs and graphics to text documents.

If you want to PDF your OneNote and it's wider than portrait 8.5x11 paper go to the web-based OneNote app. I've found a few work-arounds and I'd be happy to help or share my code if anyone is interested. Anything wider than that simply disappears. On the web-app it's one 11x17 tabloid in landscape or about 30 large rule squares in OneNote. On my mac it seems that it will export to about 3 8.5x11 pages in portrait. PDF export only exports to some certain width, and as mentioned previously there is no demarcation of this width when using OneNote. The pain here is that a page that is topologically to the right of another page gets displayed below the previous page in all pdf viewers I've ever seen. and almost all my notes are because every f*king computer screen in the world is landscape, get sliced up into separate pages. In Mac at least it will only export to an 8.5x11 piece of paper in portrait. I could live with the fact that the OneNote canvas is infinite if they'd at least show me where my pages would get split up or cut off when printing or saving to pdf. They make no effort to show any margins in the app. Every pdf viewer I've ever run into tries to treat a pdf as a series of pages, and thus even viewing on a computer you've got gaps between all the images and handwritten notes. This means that images, and handwritten notes get sliced up. It splits the notes arbitrarily at the exact border of the paper that you're saving to. It will save as a pdf, but there are serious limitations. Or maybe I want to "version-control" a note or make it absolutely not editable. a feature they removed and don't seem to be working very hard to re-introduce. Or maybe I don't want to share an entire notebook with someone I just want to share a single page. Sometimes I take notes that I'd like to export to PDF so I can email to someone that doesn't have OneNote. This left me no choice but to use OneNote if I wanted access everywhere. I needed something that I could use everywhere, including on my phone which is a pixel2. I have an iPad, a MacBook Pro that I run in Windows, Mac, or Ubuntu depending on the task. I ended choosing it over all the other note-taking software because it's free and extremely cross platform. I just got started using OneNote and I like it a lot. Some of the most interesting scripts include the following: turning off Cortana permanently, uninstalling OneDrive (which is very useful if you don't use this service), and removing location services. As already mentioned, if you regret deactivating something, all it takes is a simple click to revert to the previous configuration. From the first tab, which is called EZ Debloater, you can execute some of the most common scripts with a single click. Because the program doesn't uninstall anything permanently, you can always reactivate any feature or application if you change your mind.Īlthough Windows 11 Debloater can be a bit overwhelming the first time you open it due to the large number of tabs and options it includes, it's actually very easy to use. Windows 11 Debloater is a program that lets you disable, in a matter of seconds, some of the less useful features and applications that come installed on Windows 11. |
